What IP68 Breakdown Means

Key Details About IP68 Testing

• Manufacturer-Defined Parameters: Unlike IP67 (which strictly requires testing at 1 meter depth for 30 minutes), the IP68 standard allows manufacturers to set the exact depth and duration as long as conditions exceed IP67 requirements.

• Freshwater Standard: Tests are conducted in clean, still freshwater. IP68 protection does not automatically cover salt water, chlorinated pool water, high pressure, or high temperatures (which falls under IP69K).
